Walter,
Your suggestion about using Epsom Salts to keep out slugs sounds
interesting. Isn't it harmful to the plants as it washes into the soil?
Last year I used Diatomaceous Earth under my hostas and it worked
beautifully. This year I was lazy, and they are in shreds. I also noted
that my new Iris have elongated holes in the leaves. Should I suspect
slugs?
