Barb,
Any experienced nurseryman should know better than sending plants to
Manitoba in October. You are doing the correct thing by specifying the
earliest shipping date possible.
My original point was that the AIS should try to let new members know
when the best time to plant in their climates is. In your climate, I would
guess that July through mid August would be best.
