Dear Glenn,
I met Anna Belle Babson in 1975. She was a lovely and gracious lady and the
wife of a noted iris hybridizer, Sanford Babson. The Babsons lived in
Visalia, California, and were good friends of Ben Hager. That I why Ben
named the lovely iris for Mrs. Babson. Some of Mr. Babson's introductions
were SWEDISH MODERN, IMPERSONATOR, BIRTHSTONE, CATHEDRAL WINDOWS, NOBLEMAN and
ODYSSEY. His SHIPSHAPE won the Dykes Medal in 1974.
