HYB: Genetics - fertile IB's

From: "Jan Clark" <janclarx@hotmail.com>

Can anyone (Sharon Mc, or Tom T-L??)walk me through the possible genetic
scenario of the following crosses:
Barry Blyth crossed JAZZAMATAZZ (SDB) with (EMBASSADORA X EVENING ECHO)
TB to get ZING ME (fertile IB)
ZING ME X TB's has given fertile IB's which, as yet haven't any
registered offspring.
ZING ME x SDB's has given SDB's which do have registered seedlings in
the SDB and IB category. (Barry Blyth registered a few CELCIUS progeny
this year with CELCIUS as either Pod or Pollen parent, and claims
Celcius to be very fertile.)
How can this be interpreted using Tom Tadfor-Littles chromosome chart
where TB's are represented as TTTT and SDB's as TTPP, IB's as TTTP ?
What has changed to allow the IB ZING ME to be fairly fertile and
produce fertile offspring from crosses with either TB's or SDB's ?
I'm trying to determine what crosses I can make with these iris, that
will most likely give fertile offspring.
TIA for any help you might be able to give on this difficult subject.
Jan Clark, Australia
