Jan,
     Louisiana Irises are hardy to temperatures far below -20 C  (-4 F). 
However, in Denmark, I would think that the lack of heat would be a problem
with them.  In the climates to which the Louisiana species are native,
summer temperatures if 35 C are normal, with 40 C being an occasional
occurrence, and 45 C not being unheard of.  
     Even in the Sioux Falls, South Dakota area, where some Louisianas are
grown, although winters are colder than in Denmark, the summers are quite
hot.  
     If any of our members know of anyone having success with Louisianas in
England, The Netherlands, or maybe Tasmania or similar climates, I hope
they let us know.
