What a wonderful welcome back!
I am trying to find time to get up to BC and dig those irises quickly, I
knew I was fighting the "weather" wait. It got COOOLLLLDDDD here on
Monday, snow on the mountains south of here no less.
Rodney, thank you for coming forth!! The Louisianna irises are still alive
and sorta well. Two of them even bloomed this "summer"; they are in large
pots after being transplanted from pots to plastic bags to pots this
spring. Will they survive here if I keep them in pots and protect the pots
in the pump house over the winter? We dont have a pond yet, but I keep
them pretty moist and hope for the pond next summer. But seeing the stark
difference in climate between here an LA, do they have any hope in the
ground? or just keep in pots?
Iris foods, making me hungry gang.
I need to be outside planting dafodils and mints and stuff that has not
made it into the ground yet, but I am finishing mail and THEN heading into
the cold. At least the sun is up for the first day in 3. Lots of sun
here, eastern WA, not like Seattle at all.
Take care,
