Chris,
You have picked up some pretty good irises for yourself (if they turn out
to be true to name). I grew SW and GG, and they were both reliable
performers and attractive flowers. I got some interesting seedlings from
GG, a couple of which I still grow.
You asked about I. pallida "Variegata" in a separate email. $14.95 sounds
like a pretty steep price for a widely distributed old standby such as this
one is - it is readily available for under $5.00US. If you are considering
hybridizing with it remember that it is a diploid and the leaf variegation
is reportedly an effect of cytoplasmic (non-chromosomal) inheritance and is
therefore tricky to work with in a breeding program.
