Hi Dave,
Welcome to iris-talk. We have a number of iris afficianados in the Ottawa
Valley but no momentum yet for a full fledged club (i.e., we meet
irregularly). You're welcome to join us. We do manage to exchange
catalogues and pool orders in the spring. You should come up for a visit
during bloom season. We bought a lot of new introductions this year. We
shall certainly visit when you get your operation up and running.

My name is Dave White and my wife, Mary Ann and I live on a rural
property, 49 acres, about 15 minutes N.E. of Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
I am a trainer/consultant by day job. This allows me to garden
about 25 varieties of iris, mostly tall bearded, and enjoy them with day
lilies and hosta. I have a plan to develop the property into a commercial
venture, growing flowers and also making maple syrup in the late winter.
Started growing iris about 20 years ago when I found some left at the curb
for garbage, have been growing some ever since.
We moved to this property about 2 years ago and have since had the
opportunity to begin expanding the number and type of plants we grow.
