temperatures ranged from about 12 C up to 43 C.  Maybe Neomarica caerula is
not suited for climates in which alligators are found?

I had consistent success when I potted the developing rhizome while it was
still attached to the mother plant, so it could grow roots before being
detached.  Think I learned that trick from Lu Danielson.
