>I tried a start of the plant that was supposed to be Neomarica caerula
[blue] but lost it. The think sulked for a long time, then looked like it
was going to try to grow. Then, it up and died. I don't know what made it
die, unless it is a fussy species. Mine was not inside, but was outside in
3/4 shade. During the time in question, the weather was humid, and
temperatures ranged from about 12 C up to 43 C. Maybe Neomarica caerula is
not suited for climates in which alligators are found?

I had consistent success when I potted the developing rhizome while it was
still attached to the mother plant, so it could grow roots before being
detached. Think I learned that trick from Lu Danielson.
