Hello Folks,
Well, I'm here to report that ROYAL SUMMER is reblooming. It's
not much, but it gets credit for trying in our weather. The first two
buds of three dried up and the last has opened in shreds due to
the calorie intake of grasshoppers, but so far it is the only rebloomer
to make the attempt.
Which brings me to the dumb question I've been meaning to ask
for a while. If a rebloomer does not manage successful rebloom due
to atrocious weather patterns, may I expect them to perform as
oncers? Or will the attempts they may make at reblooming limit
the spring bloom? If, as I suspect, our weather is not conducive to
a good fall bloom cycle, then I may need to steer clear of rebloomers
if they will not perform well for spring bloom. I've enough rebloomers
to run through several seasons and see how the rebloom goes, but
I've never been clear on their performance in spring as compared to
oncers.
TIA
Donald Eaves
