I've heard individual climatic conditions blamed for the lack of pollen, and
I can believe this theory. A badly timed hard frost/freeze does seem to make
a difference with pollen viability. I found pollen to be scarce on
Immortality, Lime Fizz, & Inferno. (Just the ones that pop into my mind this
morning.) However, by checking regularly, I was able to eventually find
pollen on all three. Immortality & Inferno were both parts of my rebloom
quest.

ALSO, I have often wondered how much potassium, phosphorus, and trace
minerals play a part in these vagaries. These elements are needed for things
other than bright colored blooms. All play a part in the strength of the
plant and the development/growth of pods/seed.

Any thoughts on this possibility?

hollowed out spots on rhizomes.
