Hi Allison and Gang:
Allison asked about RHETT...and I can't recall if anyone answered. It is
indeed a Louisiana iris...and in my opinion a good one. I like its
pendulous falls, and the color is arresting too...somewhere between brick
red and with some rust in it too...hard to describe.
One reason I like RHETT is its tendency to bloom early for me. I don't
have my record books here at the office, but one year it was the first La.
to bloom in my city garden. It always wins a blue ribbon in our local
show...whenever I'm fortunate enough to have one that late in the season.
I think Mary Dunn was the hybridizer.
