I'm just writing this to see if I can get some sympathy. I've been
wondering since the 10th of the month where my order from Schreiners' was,
and anticipating getting home from work and seeing that box of rhizomes on
the breezeway. I'd ordered (or thought I had!) lots of recent
introductions and some 1999 ones.
But wait a mo'--don't they usually send acknowledgement cards with the
shipping date? And I didn't get such a card. Well, this morning I
searched the check register and couldn't find one for our friends out in
Oregon...so I grabbed my catalog and sure enough, there was my filled-out
order blank, still bound in. I had filled it out completely back in May
but forgotten the little detail of writing a check and mailing the order!
I'll try phoning when the office opens out on the west coast and see what I
can salvage--but I suspect things I really wanted might be sold out by now.
I'n not worried about late planting because I get excellent results
planting in September and October.
I groused about this at breakfast, and Justin said "Dad, maybe you're
getting Oldtimers Disease!" That's Alzheimer's son, and button yer lip...
