Dear nancy,
I think pictures of this species have been posated before. I have a
plant, somewhat cantakerous, that has heavily reticulated (netted
with deep veins) leaves, slightly toothed along the margins, deep
green and with a buff coloured indumentum (felt) underneath. It
grew vigorously to about 1m and then, just as the flower spikes
emerged, the plant succumbed to either too much heat, too much
direct sun and/or not enough water. So I did not get to see the
second crop of intense deep blue flowers that I was anticipating
when I bought the plant in bloom. It is making strong basal growth
now, after I cut back hard all the stems that collapsed for whatever
reason, but they will be too late developing I think to bloom before
winter cold gets it.
