Is it damp?  if not, give it a good water, keep it covered only to 
keep it damp, and check it every so often.  Since the weather is 
warming, it will probably cure pretty quickly.  I'm confused, 
however, as to why the presence of worms tells Moira that the heap is 
not ready.  Doesn't the presence of worms just tell us that it is a 
good environment for these critters -- just as we want it to be?  Hmmm
