CA Botanical gardens

Hi Guys,

I may be flying out to CA next month to attend the sale at Cabrillo
College and staying with a friend near San Luis Obispo.  I won't be
there very long, just a few days but would like to take in as many sites
as possible.

Would those of you in CA mind sending me a list of Botanical Gardens and
other botanic sites, as well as good nurseries?  They would need to be
in southern CA I think, accessible within a few hours of SLO if
possible.

I think Strybing is close enough but not sure about any others.  My
preference for plant types are salvia (hence the trip to Cabrillo), plus
all other heat loving plants.

Is anyone else going to Cabrillo or has been to their sales before?
