We were eating ripe loquats in Cyprus last Sunday!
There is a loquat tree near here in the well known Liverpool University 's
Ness Botanic gardens ( on an outhouse wall opposite the potting sheds.) Of
course it never gets warm enough to fruit here. However a local food canning
company (Prince's or was it John Wests )used this foliage for illustrations
on the labels of their tinned loquats.
