One thing that happens w/ daylilies is their roots pull them lower into
the soil and that can cause them to perform poorly. In my experience,
they like moisture, but not soggy conditions. While relatively bug-free,
in recent years I see small white insects once or twice a year in the
fans. If the plants aren't treated w/in a few days, those insects can
kill the plants.
