Just thought I'd mention that this year's Annual General Meeting of the
Mediterranean Garden Society will be in Athens, Greece in October. Here is
a short bit the president wrote for our next newsletter:
"You read about the 2000 Annual General Meeting in Palermo, Sicily, in the
previous issue of our newsletter (no. 7). This year's AGM will take place
in Athens Greece, from October 17-20. Members from many Branches around
the world will be attending, and a wonderful program of garden visits is
being planned, including of course, Sparoza, Mary Jaqueline Tyrwhjitt's
garden in the hillsides of Attica [the garden 'headquarters' for the
Society]. It would be great to have a group of members from California,
and I hope you'll consider going. Watch for details in the MGS journal -
The Mediterranean Garden." Katherine Greenberg, President of the MGS,
Lafayette CA
Seems a great opportunity to travel to this part of the world - my wife and
I certainly enjoyed our visit to Sicily last October. It was so nice to
meet other MGS members from around the world and we were treated so well by
other members with whom we stayed during our visit. If anyone has
questions or wishes more information, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Best regards,
