OOPS! In case anyone gets overly
impressed with my brothers and me and mistakes us for the stateside version of
Steve Erwin et.al., let me just correct that reptilian ID of the snake we
handled: It wasn't a coral snake - yikes- or even the California KING snake we
all originally thought, but now my brother thinks some other snake altogether;
perhaps a ringneck snake. Any snake fans among you plantsfolk?
Bright orange belly with a gray/black back; very slender.
