Hi,
I am putting in a raised bed with natural stone on the east
side of my house beside driveway. The irregular circular bed will be about
5.5 metres diameter. In summer the area will have sun most of the day but
not so much during the winter as I have fairly mature carob trees on the
perimeter. Anyway, I want to put in a variety of palms to start with and
then add other tropicals i.e strelitzia, dracaena, phormiums, etc, I
was thinking of a Washingtonia filifera (3m truck) to give instant height, Butia
capiata (blue) and maybe something like a Phoenix canariensis that won't get too
big too quickly and shade everything underneath. Any ideas
welcome.
Spring weather has finally arrived here in Costa Blanca but we
have had yet another deluge of rain 2 days ago.
Happy Easter everyone,
Maria Costa Blanca-Spain
