Re: garrigue vs maquis?

Maquis is a dense and tall shrubby cover, usually on acidic soils (Erica multiflora, Cistus ladanifer, Arbutus unedo, Pistacia lentiscus). Garrigue is not as dense and as tall, usually on lime soils (Rosmarinus officinalis, Lavandula angustifolia, Quercus coccifera).
