Thanks, I'm being patient with this one because they're such spectacular plants and... I really want to see this one flower. I've let it alone and I do not fertilize the garden that it is growing in (this one has a number of California natives and other compatible Mediterraneans). Sometimes this one seems to be competing with the palms I have for "slowest to get going"!

Yes, it does take some time. It does best in dead soil and hates fertiliser, and water in the summer. My menziesie took forever to bloom. So be patient. Bill Grant, Aptos
