[medit-plants] noticed this in the garden ...


Years ago, I came into a succulent that I thought was Echeveria 'Gilva' - turns out it was NOT , though it is very similar (see https://gimcw.org/2010/06/23/gilva-vs-gilva/).

This morning I saw one group of this succulent (which I call 'Gilva Spreader') flowering with two different types of spikes - one type a single spike, like E. elegans, one parent; the other branching at the end, like E. agavoides, the other parent.  This phenomenon varies from year to year (this year only this one group have the branched spike, other years most all of the plants I have have been branched).
