[medit-plants] Re: the medit-plants email forum

Sylvia has here put into eloquent words exactly how I feel. I would only add a heartfelt thank you for all your work over the years.

I would be thrilled if the list were to continue — the connections we build are more important than ever right now — but would fully understand if you were to decide to close it.

Hi Sean,

My only contact is with this forum (don’t do FB), and I certainly enjoy the postings though only rarely contribute.  I’d like to continue to have this opportunity to hear from others interested in growing and learning about mediterranean plants as well as having the option to ask the occasional question.

You’ve done an outstanding job keeping this going all these years on your own.  If you can continue your efforts without an increasing burden, please do so.

Thank you,
Sylvia in Oakland

Just an FYI ...

There are almost 60 people still subscribed to this forum. There has been some recent renewed interest (a couple of new subscribers).

I'm quite frustrated with managing the Facebook group that grew from the original medit-plants forum - FB keeps changing things, seems to have a specific agenda that doesn't support the group, and there has not been enough people stepping forward to help admin.

I'm tired.  And don't like contributing (through FB use) to one of the wealthiest men on the planet.

Some people in the FB group have asked if there is a forum to use instead - I pointed out that this one does still exist.

To those of you still subscribed here: Do you welcome the VERY occasional email from the forum?  Or would you choose to leave if it became more active? (I happened to find out from one of our members that he had his email interface delete medit-plants messages! I did him the favor of removing him from the list).  Should I look into deleting medit-plants entirely?

Don't regret anything about starting this back in the mid-1990s - it's been a very enriching experience, and I met many wonderful people!  I also don't mind keeping medit-plants going - just looking to 'lighten my load' a bit with the various internet things I've created over the years.
