I, for one, thought it was real at first.  Perhaps because of the lengths
our state government went to when eliminating Mediterranean fruit fly
infestations. Like, for example, mass helicopter sprayings of med-fly bait
over entire towns in the middle of the night. And going door-to-door to
strip all the fruit off backyard fruit trees.

For me, the give-away was the inclusion of morning glory family plants in a
Nightshade family list and the sheer impossibility of the government being
able to to eliminate all members of the family (including wild and weed
species) nationwide for 10 years.
