Hi --This came across my desk and I hope no one minds me posting it here.
As you can see, a dedicated group of volunteers will be working on May 3 to
paint and landscape five homes in the Fremont area that form the nucleus of
the Rubicon Children's Center. One of the organizers asked my help in
soliciting some volunteers who have gardening/landscaping experience. They
really need some of us more experienced folks to help out. Perhaps a few of
you have that Saturday available -- or can pass this request on. Carol

The Airline Ambassadors organization is looking for some experienced
gardeners (as well as non-experienced volunteers!) to help out with their
all day project to paint, landscape, and garden at the Rubicon Childrens
Center's homes in Fremont.
Airline Ambassadors is an international volunteer association of airline
personnel, dedicated to taking the knowledge and experiences of their
travels and applying them to service for the global community. In addition
to escorting children in need of medical care between their native
countries and US Medical facilities, they also volunteer their efforts in
community projects around the world.
Rubicon Children's Center provides long term residential treatment for
abused and neglected children, ages four through sixteen. The Center
consists of five homes, each one serving six children and functioning as a
family unit.
If you've got gardening and landscaping experience, your talents are
especially needed at this Saturday work event. Call Kathy Johnson at the
number below for additional information and directions. (Nurseries and
hardware stores are donating materials, lunch will be provided by local
delicatessens.)
