I would like to grow a fruiting quince and wondered if anyone could
recommend a nursery throught which I can mail order a plant. I fell in love
with their wonderful aromatic fruit last fall, but haven't found any local
nurseries that carry this "old fashioned" fruit tree. Lots of flowering
quinces around, but I receive only blank stares when I ask for a fruiting
variety.
Also, I live in Albuquerque, NM right at the interface of zone 7 and 8.
I've successfully grown some plants that thrive in zone 8, but I'm
wondering how a persimmon will do in our climate? I read in the Sunset
Western Garden Handbook that a persimmon in our zone might not fruit. Can
anyone tell me about their experiences with persimmons and provide some
suggestions?
Thanks!
