Barry:

They can get quite large in Mexico. I went plant collecting about ten years
ago with Manuel Flores through the north-central states, including
Queretero. We had to go to a map store near the local university in
downtown Queretero City, and on our way in, I saw two huge trees dwarfing
most of the buildings (none over 5 stories high) about 5 - 10 city blocks
ahead. `Is that what I think it is?', I said to Manuel, `They look like
they are over 100 feet tall!'. Said he, `Yes, that's Norfolk Island pine'.
Queretero City, with over 100,000 people, didn't have any heavy industry at
the time that I could tell.
