Cornus virus?

Speaking of Cornus (because of an earlier thread on Cornus Hongkongensis, and
so many are in bloom right now, and they are so beautiful)
-my husband was telling me he read somewhere (he can't remember where, maybe in a book
about the Appalachian trail)
about a virus which was killing the Cornus, and no know cure. Even if it is only the east coast (for now),
I fear it wiping out all the Dogwoods, they are such special trees.
Anyone on Medit Plants heard about this???
