Local Bay Area Folks -
I'm glad I caught Cheryl's question. Yes, the 'Gardening Under
Mediterranean Skies II' Symposium is coming up later in September. In
fact, there is a price break if you register before September 1st. For
those of you who have not yet heard about this event, check out links on
the web site for more information: http://www.support.net/Medit-Plants/
Since Alessandra and Nick will be in the Bay Area during this (being
speaker for the Symposium), I also thought it might be interesting to have
a gathering of interested local Medit-Plants members. There are a fair
number of us in the Bay Area, so I suspect there would be a lot of
interest. Let me know if this is true, and if you are, in what way you
might be able to participate in making it happen. Consider these points:
Food - it is always nice to have food at such a gathering, presumably a
pot-luck would be fine - would you all be prepared to bring something
edible, handmade or purchased, to such an event?
Location - we'd need a place to meet, possibly inside, hopefully with a
garden close at hand, perhaps something people might be interested to visit.
Organization - does someone want to take on the job of managing the event,
likely entailing making some calls, coordinating a few small details,
fielding questions, providing directions, etc.
I will research possible dates and coordinate with the main folks involved
to ensure that they can be there. Any other point I've neglected? Or
other ideas? Please feel free to suggest to me personally (we don't need
to bog down the discussion with such specific stuff, and I will be happy to
post a synopsis of the plans at appropriate times).
Could be fun!
Regards,
Sean O.
