William Glover's suggestion of protective wire fencing
is a good one for protecting those things that will
take your climate and lack of care, but may not be
resistant to goats and sheep until they grow tall
enough to be out of eating range.

I was wondering if anyone knows whether Agave and
Aloes are generally left alone by goats and sheep?
The deer here in California tend to leave these alone,
but rabbits can be a problem with some varieties.
