I have the concentrate of roundup (i'm not wary of
herbicides and literature i've read suggests it takes
a lot of roundup to be toxic, and of all herbicides is
the least toxic (not fully, but better than most).

Anyway, it says to kill stumps you drill holes in the
stump, and fill it with the concentrate. I imagine on
scotch broom shrubs with a good amount of trunk you
can do the same. This would be even safer than
spraying since it all stays right in the wood and no
mist gets about.
