Joe:
The happiest combo in my garden is Pennisetum setaceum "rubrum" fronted by
Artemisia "powis castle" and backed by a tall, dark, shiny green mystery
Ceanothus with long arching branches and long dense vivid blue panicles when
in bloom. (The one I mentioned in another post from the UCDavis Arboretum
raffle) . The color and texture contrasts have been a real delight, and it
fills about 6-8 ft. of border space.
