Re: Tree butchery

If anyone wants to talk to experts in the San Francisco Bay Area, consult
with Tree Shapers. Ted Kipping is an old friend (and one of the best known
horticulturists in the Bay area) who is a master arborist. This thread is
one of his pet peeves, and he might have ideas on how to deal with problems.

If he is giving a lecture on alpines or other plants, plan to go to it - he
is one of the best.

Also: I think it is standard over the whole of the United States for
easements to be set from the center of roadways and streets that are under
the control of government. That's why it should be hard to get permission
to plant under existing power lines. I would also think that community
involvement could influence the forming or modifying of regulations
governing theses situations. Has anyone had any luck with this approach?
