Some of your suggestions may be the problem at hand for me. Most of my
garden is in less than full sun in addition to the coolness and fog of the
summers here.
The larvae I speak of seem to be the offspring of several small moth
varieties that I see often hanging about my salvias.

We have our share of smog but nothing like that in LA.
