RE: looking for So. CA nurseries

Hello:

You might try the Theodore Payne foundation nursery.  Here is the link to their hours and locations.  They specialize in California natives, which are certainly mediterranean!  I have never been, but if you go, I would like to know what you think.  I think this is close to Pasadena, but I could be wrong.

Hello Susan,

My favorite nursery, with lots of medit. climate plants

Bellefontaine Nursery    (626) 796-0747

838 South Fair Oaks Ave.

Pasadena, CA 91106

While you're there, go up around the corner to the new public mediterranean garden:

Arlington Garden - corner of Arlington and Pasadena Ave.

where you're free to wander through the mediterranean and Cal. native plantings

                                                                                                            with good sign-age.
