I’ll sort of re-respond what I told Nan earlier in the year. I took my niece to Hampton Court last summer and it was a mob. The directional signage was awful, making us wonder where we were half the time. The exhibits were good enough, but it was just so hard to see them in the crush. Perhaps our mistake was going on a weekend, but alas, my niece lives and works in London, so that was her day off. I wouldn’t go again. I did, however, enjoy seeing the grounds of Hampton Court Palace and peering over the back wall at the formal gardens there, which had just closed when we finished the show. I'd go for Hampton Court, since more of the country is in real bloom, and I love Chelsea, but not much else is in bloom then. Also, Hampton Court is big enough that you can see things without having to look over several rows of people. I'd go to Chelsea once, but back to HC as often as possible. The responses have nearly all been off-list, so I am the only lucky person to see them. At the same time, I've received several emails from members asking what I've heard. My friends, it seems time to go back to sharing on the list. We've done it for so many, may years (I have listserv emails going back to at least 1999!) and its what makes this group such a wonderful cadre of gardeners. So, I'd like to ask a favor - if you've responded to my emails asking about Chelsea or Hampton Court flower shows, or why I'm losing leucadendrons in the summer heat, please repost your answer to the listerv. I treasure every answer and I know everyone else does as well. Nan PS If you prefer that I post the emails, just let me know. ***************************************** Nan Sterman, Plant Soup, Inc TM Garden Journalist • Speaker Gardening Coach • Garden Designer • Horticulture Consultant Mail PO Box 231034, Encinitas, CA 92023 Articles in print San Diego Union Tribune, Los Angeles Times, Sunset Magazine, Organic Gardening, and more….
