Re: Canna species ID ?

David,

Sorry I can't help with your ID question, but your timing was uncanny as just
last week I collected seed of a Canna I found in a basically abandoned garden
in San Francisco. It's a lovely thing, small sunset-colored flowers with
foliage rather lanceolate and pale green. The plant itself was a large clump
and about 6 feet tall.
I suspect it too is a species rather than a hybrid. I'd like to grow some but
don't know what conditions Cannas require for germination. Any advice? 

Anyone know a good Canna species reference? I'd like to get this one ID'd as
well...
