The golden mean is still alive and kicking. A4 paper and all the other
sizes,
the proportions of carpets, beds, and rooms. The TV screen. There is
no
escaping it. In modern times, aside for the rectangular shape, the
science of
human proportion has been recycled as "ergonomics" and can be seen in
the shapes
of car seats and office furniture. Also, the Greco-Roman concepts of
city
planning still apply: vistas, etc. Far from being confining, it is so
prevalent and variable we don't even notice it! Karen
