Re: Astelia Finale
Tim, my trusty Wrigley and Fagg [Aust. Nat. Botanic Garden so one assumes
not one to argue with] lists only Astelia alpina in Tassie. It's possible
that A. milliganii is a superseded name in the manner of
botanists/taxonomists. They state that the Tas. Astelia is alpina, and that
the mainland form [Vic and NSW] is var. novae-hollandiae. It is smaller than
the Tas version. This sounds to me like there was room for some taxonomic
juggling. Oz plants seem to suffer from this more than most.
How did you know about my roses?
Cheers, and seasons greetings to you.
Margaret.
