more poison oak questions...

Hello medit-plant heads,
Good morning. I have another question, and this actually does
relate back to the original thread on P.Oak that I started about
4 -5 weeks ago. Through a combination of steroids and TECNU, I
have 99.9% removed the stuff from my body, but there is a
lingering problem, and I hope someone will have some clear
information regarding this.
While I was hacking at the shrubbery, weeds and brambles that I
assumed must have had a few stray strands of the demon oak in
it, I think I mentioned I also dragged it over the fence into my
big compost heap. This is a heap of tough stuff, that i've left
in a spot for eventual breakdown. I use other , smaller piles of
leaves and such for my on going compost. So now this pile, which
I separated and moved the other day, taking out the bigger
stems, and leaving the good, loamy stuff to use. Then I thought,
I wonder how long the Oak, if there's any remaining in the loamy
pile, would take to be rendered harmless, if ever.
Please keep in mind that the stems and bigger pieces have been
sorted out and tossed, it's the good stuff I'd like to keep, the
stuff that's already been broken down. Is it even contaminated?
What if I only use it around ornamental and stay away from food
plants? Is it not even worth the risk? What do you think? Also
keep in mind that I am talking about stems, not P.Oak plants. I
have not identified any Oak, I mean by that, I cannot tell at
this stage which stems might be Oak or something else.
I realize this is off topic again, but it did seem to generate a
lot of interest and a great deal of help for me, the last time
this came up.

Thanks in advance for your usual wisdom and graciousness.
