Cattle migrations and Mediterranean ecology

Those of you interested in the ecology of Mediterranean habitats may
like to have a look at this article on transhumance in Spain which I
have just uploaded to...

http://geocities.com/wild_spain/trashumancia.html

An interview with leading naturalist, Jesus Garzón, who is trying to
revive traditional cattle migrations in Spain. The main thrust of the
article is that transhumant cattle has a "gardening" effect on the
landscape which becomes more diverse and hosts richer plant and animal
communities.
