Re: Libertia peregrinans

Yes, I thought about "dirty orange" not sounding pleasant. It's night
time so I can't just pop out and take a close look so I can describe
it better. I love the colour - noticed it right across the nursery,
a unique colour - and the form and colour is why I bought it. It
looks as though someone was a bit careless with the watercolour brush
and mixed a bit of green in to the orange. Murky orange? Unpolished
copper? Good thing I don't write catalogue descriptions.

It has neat, short fans of foliage, rather like a miniature iris.
Spare, elegant.

It certainly is never a pest here. It doesn't get to be a huge leafy
clump like some of the other libertias, because it puts up its next
fan at a little distance. I've had it for about 20 years, and I'm
sure I don't have a dozen fans yet. It looks really good growing in
a mat of something flat like thyme.
