Thanks to all the people who replied about salvia scabiosifolia's identity.
It seems that somewhere along the line it has been confused as the one
circulating is mostly mauve flowering on about metre stems and Jelitto says
it is shorter with white flowers blushed pink. I have the mauve one
flowering at present. At least it is a better plant than I expected. There
are so many with coarse nondescript foliage as this has, that can have
rather plain flowers so I never expect much of them.
(I have judaica, regeliana and one from Joseph Halda all working on
flowering that have that ordinary looking foliage.)
Has anyone seen the white blushed pink salvia scabiosifolia or knows of any
seed source?
I have a list of the more than 80 species of salvia plants I am offering at
present. Unfortunately I do not ship overseas. However the list has
descriptions and might be of interest so I will put it on Medit-plants
before long. I am not smart enough to have organised a web page so far.
Thanks again, Sue Templeton
