I don't know about a red variant, but I notice that Silverhill
Seeds (P.O Box 53108, Kenilworth, 7745 Cape Town, South Africa - list
$2 in bills), in their 1996 catalog, offers a Strelitizia reginae
`Kirstenbosch Gold' for $1 per seed (the plain species is $2 per packet
or $3.25 per hundred). This selection is described as having yellow
and blue, rather than orange and blue, flowers.
