Hi, Sean!
I found Coprosma "Beatson's Gold" at the last sale at Strybing. It is a
daintly varigated shrub, with small leaves with a golden center. I had never
seen a varigated coorosma before, and couldn't beleive this lovely plant was
even related to the coarse, misshappen volunteer shrubs I see everywhere.
I would like to ask you and the group two questions:
1) Does anyone in the Bay Area grow Corylopsis spicata? If so, how tall does
it grow? and how much sun does it require? I've just ordered it and want to
place is well.
2) I want to grow a ceonothus as a "wall shrub" against a tall fence. R.
'Cecil Brunner' would be growing next to it. Most of the varieties
recommended for gardens that would be tall enough, are also listed as wide as
they are tall. I've seen ceonothus in English garden books grown as a wall
shrub. Which would be the best varitey to select for this situation?
Thanks in advance!
