Agapanthus seeds germinate quite easily, but have a limited shelf life.
Older seeds often disappoint.
Unless they are species, no, they probably won't come true, but many of the
Agapanthus in commerce are derived from stable strains of seed (e.g.
"Headbourne Hybrids") so they may well be good forms in their own right.
Just try them!
BTW, for those who are of the opinion that there isn't much variability in
Agapanthus except in size and blueness or whiteness of the flowers, try A.
inapertus. Some of the forms of this plant have dangling tubular flowers,
and these include some with a good shade of dark indigo.
