Update; J. C. Raulston

My first posting was based on sketchy information. Herein is a quote from
The News & Observer, Monday, December 23, 1996, page 1
"Dr. James Chester "J.C." Raulston, the horticultural pioneer who
transformed the N. C. State University Arboretum into one of the most
admired eight-acre areas in the nation, died late Saturday in a car wreck
near Ramseur in Randolph County. He was 56.
Raulston died at 11:30 p.m. four miles east of Ramseur when his car,
heading east on U.S. 64, crossed into a lane of oncoming traffic and hit
another car head-on. Police say alcohol was not a factor.
Jonathan Daniel Bass, 17, of Oakley Church Road in Bear Creek also died in
 the accident..."
