Hi Mary, I too hope the fire goes out soon!
Here in Boulder Creek California there is a plant (I don't know the botanical
name) called rattlesnake grass, it looks and sounds like a rattlesnakes tail!
The acorns have been plentiful (that is an understatement) this year, and when
they land sound like bullets! (especially if a neighbor has a tin roof)
I will think some more...
